Deconcentration 101

Deconcentration is called the act and the result of deconcentration or deconcentration. This verb, in turn, alludes to loss of concentration (a term that can refer to attention or to a meeting or congregation).

The idea of deconcentration, therefore, can refer to a failure when voluntarily focusing mental attention on a certain objective. This defect can cause the objective in question to not be achieved or the subject to make a mistake in the development of an action.

For example: “The goal came due to a lack of concentration by the defender, who neglected the player who had to score”, “The driver lost control of the vehicle due to a lack of concentration and the car ended up falling into the river”, “I will not tolerate another lack of concentration yours: pay attention to work or I’ll fire you. ”

Deconcentrations can cause all kinds of inconveniences. If a student loses concentration in a class, it is likely that he will not learn the content that the teacher intends to teach him. A cook’s lack of concentration, meanwhile, can cause food to burn. An unfocused surgeon, on the other hand, can cause the death of his patient.

The concept of deconcentration is also used with respect to the separation or division of a group of individuals. Suppose that thousands of people gather in a square to attend a political event. Once the event comes to an end, the deconcentration of the people begins: the attendees leave the square to return to their homes or to go to other places.

There are many tips and many techniques that we can use in our day to day to combat the problems of deconcentration, that is, the lack of concentration. When studying or carrying out certain work activities, many people face an apparent inability to clear their minds of distractions and this can lead to great difficulty in fulfilling their obligations or even outright failure.

The first piece of advice is essential to lead a healthy life in any field: eat well. The importance of food is not in doubt, as we need it to develop, to protect ourselves from disease and to stay active. If we go on excessive weight loss diets or leave out the most beneficial products in favor of saturated fats, for example, our body cannot reach its full potential.

Lack of concentration can also be fueled by lack of sleep, which is very common in this age. While for some people sleep is sacred, others cannot relax at night and that leads them to continue being active until finally they collapse on the bed or on the sofa, but this does not allow them to rest as they really need. Facing a day of study or work with little sleep is the perfect recipe for poor performance and, probably, getting sick very often.

There are those who opt for ambient music to combat deconcentration, but this does not always work. Temptation is always just around the corner: prepare something to eat, go for a glass of juice, read that news item on the Internet that was pending, or respond to messages from our contacts on social networks; These are all “very valid” reasons to walk away from our obligations.

Perhaps the worst thing about deconcentration is the great difficulty of returning once we have been trapped by that other activity, the one that tempted us and took us away from the main one. One way in which we can begin to fight this syndrome is by allowing ourselves small breaks throughout the work, that is, assuming from the beginning that we will break it into small portions so that we are not surprised by distractions but have them as “prizes” for each stage passed.
